There is a small, squeezed street in my neighborhood that cuts diagonally through a single city block, crudely cleaving apart the buildings on either side. As I walk past it and peer down it, I always glance at the street sign to relish its name: “Calle de Calvo Asesino,” or “Street of the Bald Murderer.”

However, as I learned today, its name is actually Calle de Calvo Asensio, named after a fairly boring writer whose work I once had to read in class.  Its going to remain “bald murderer” in my mind.
